Folio is built for them. We find them on Google, build a website for them before asking, and send a screenshot by email. No sales calls, no "revolutionary platforms". Just: here's what your site could look like — if you want it, $500 and you're online.

Why we built this

The website industry is broken for small businesses. Freelancers charge $3,000+ for a Wix theme, big "platforms" lease you sites you don't own, and most SaaS options expect you to know what a "staging environment" is. We wanted one simple option: fixed price, your site, no bullshit.

What's under the hood

Built on Payload CMS and Next.js, hosted on Hetzner in Germany with Cloudflare in front. We use the Anthropic Claude API to write the copy — not because it's trendy but because it writes better native Icelandic (and German, French, Spanish) than we can across 20 languages. And everything is GDPR-compliant because we're Europeans ourselves.

Who runs it

Folio Websites ehf. is a small company headquartered in Iceland. We aren't VC-funded and don't plan to be. We build this layer by layer and spend zero on pizza parties.
